Our family

We are a "true" lot et garonnaise family: it means we came from the constant immigration that this county had lived. From the fatherly side, our ancestors came from the North of France and Belgium. From the motherly side, they came from Lozère and Tarn.

Living here since 4 generations, the farm has evolved. During more than 200 years, this exploitation links cows with vines. But, coming from the North, and with no kind of knowledge about this farming, our forefather took off the living vineyard. During the 80's, looking for diversification, and since Francine's family was winegrower, vineyard makes a revival and finally supplants plums orchard which dissapear in the 90's. Philippe was kind of the culture: so he continues to plant it and gives his passion to his daughter. Christelle became a farmer in 2013 and with her advent, appears white wine too because she's fond of it.

Our vineyard

Living in the town named Dolmayrac, Domaine d'Arfeuille perpetuate the viticultural tradition of the Serres' plateau.

The 9.5ha vineyard is planted for a part on a land where there was the castle of Lamaurelle. It's on a clay-limestoned terroir, which means a fat soil with a lot of white more or less strong stones: it's a dream for winegrower because it links the freshness of the clay with filtering traits of these limestone stones.

We have different grapes for the red wine and rosé: 44% of Merlot, 27% of Cabernet (Franc et Sauvignon), 12% of Syrah, 7% of Egiodola, 4% of Tannat, 4% of Cot et 2%  of Alicante. Moreover, since 2014, 1ha of white grapes have appeared (Petit and Gros Manseng).

All of there make a red wine with a strong personnality, a very fruity rosé, and a white wine with bouquet and a touch of acidity.

As we want to protect our land, we have decided to conduct out vineyard with the most sustainable way possible. In this way, we made vine's work manually (pruning, thinning...). We endeavour to limit treatments: the weather and our daily visit help us to space our crossing. At last, we have abandonned chemical fertilizers. Now, we make our own compost which we scatter as soon as harvest period is finish. Thus, cows are also implicated in the vines.
